Melanie has just opened her own Photographic Art Gallery online called LOSTDOVE

Melanie Faith Dove is a best selling author and award winning photographer. She’s worked professionally since 1996, predominantly in news and editorial photography with The Age (Fairfax) newspaper from 2002-2013. Her unique and creative imagery has been published extensively in books, newspapers and magazines, including The Sydney Morning Herald, Outback Magazine, Australian Geographic Magazine and BBC Wildlife Magazine.

Melanie’s latest book ‘High Country Cattlemen’, released in October 2015, pictorially celebrates the lives and traditions of the remaining Australian Mountain Cattlemen families in Victoria and Tasmania. The book takes a contemporary look at the now seventh generation cattlemen driving and mustering their cattle in tune with the seasons, set in Australia’s spectacular Alpine country.

Dove’s portraiture has been gaining accolades after winning The National Portrait Gallery’s, ‘People’s Choice Award’ for ‘Face of South Sudan’ in 2013. She also won ‘People’s Choice Award’ in the Monash Gallery of Art – Bowness Award, for her portrait, ‘Cowboy Kids’. Her portrait ‘Living back home’, was one of only 30 international finalists in New York’s Charlatan Ink Art Prize, 2011.

Melanie has worked for many aid organisations and foundations in recent years, covering everything from Infrastructure and Governance Study Tours to high level conferences, seminars and festivals. She has worked for International Mining for Development Centre, Australia-Africa Partnerships Facility , Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Children First Foundation and the Yothu Yindi Foundation.
